Asian Paints reported a 45% YoY increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,234 crore for Q4 FY23. Its operating revenue rose 11% YoY to Rs 8,787 crore during the same quarter. EBITDA also rose 29% YoY to Rs 1,865 crore. The company’s board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 21.25 per equity share.

IT dept conducts raids at Mankind Pharma’s office in New Delhi

According to a CNBC-TV18 report, India’s Income Tax department has conducted searches at Mankind Pharma’s office in New Delhi over allegations of tax evasion. Company premises and plants in Delhi and nearby locations are being covered and documents are being checked apart from the questioning of company executives as part of the searches launched early in the morning.

Eicher Motors Q4 Results: Net profit jumps 48% YoY to Rs 905 crore

Eicher Motors reported a 48% YoY increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 905 crore for Q4 FY23. Its operating revenue rose 19% YoY to Rs 3,804 crore during the same quarter. EBITDA stood at Rs 934 crore, up 235 YoY from Q4 FY22. The company’s board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 37 per equity share.

SpiceJet to revive grounded fleet with $50 million ECLGS funds

SpiceJet has initiated the process of reviving its grounded fleet with the $50 million funds received by the airline from the government’s Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) and internal cash accruals. The company is actively engaging with investors to raise funds and put itself back on track. In April, Credit Suisse moved the Supreme Court, filing a contempt petition against SpiceJet over allegations that the airline had failed to pay dues that were part of a settlement.

South Indian Bank Q4 Results: Net profit jumps 22.7% YoY to Rs 333.9 crore

South Indian Bank reported a 22.7% YoY increase in net profit to Rs 333.9 crore for Q4 FY23. The bank’s Net Interest Income (NII) stood at Rs 857 crore, up 43.4% YoY. Its gross NPA stood at 5.14%, while net NPA is at 1.86%. The bank’s board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.3 per equity share.

ABB India expands production footprint of drives portfolio in India

Three Adani firms to consider raising up to Rs 40,000 crore: Report

As per a Bloomberg report, three Adani Group companies are considering fundraising of up to $5 billion (~Rs 40,000 crore). Adani Enterprises Ltd, Adani Green Energy Ltd, and Adani Transmission Ltd may raise between $3 billion and $5 billion to boost their businesses. The boards of the three firms are meeting on Saturday to consider raising funds via the sale of shares or other securities.

ONGC discovers oil, gas in Arabian Sea blocks

ONGC has announced the discovery of two oil and gas reserves, named ‘Amrit’ and ‘Moonga,’ in the Mumbai offshore region. The company had acquired the blocks under the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP). Based on the available data, ONGC will determine if additional wells need to be drilled for further exploration and appraisal.

Cabinet approves Rs 10,683 crore PLI scheme for textile sector

The Union Cabinet has approved a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles for man-made fibre (MMF) apparel, MMF fabrics, and 10 segments or products of technical textiles with a budgetary outlay of Rs 10,683 crore over the next five years. The scheme is expected to boost manufacturing activities, add jobs, and help scale up textile exports. Textile factories based around aspirational districts or Tier-3 & Tier-4 cities will be given priority. This move will benefit states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

The healthcare division of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has entered into the nutrition bar segment in India with the launch of Revital NXT. The product is a brand extension of Revital H, a health supplement brand. Revital NXT has been launched in two different variants, Revital Energy NXT and Revital Protein NXT. It contains Ginseng, 16 vitamins and minerals, and triple blend protein. The nutrition bar is currently available on Amazon. The market for nutrition bars in India is growing rapidly due to the increasing focus on fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Caplin Point Lab gets USFDA approval for labetalol hydrochloride injection

Capline Steriles, a subsidiary of Caplin Point Laboratories, has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for labetalol hydrochloride injection. The drug is indicated for the control of blood pressure in severe cases of hypertension. According to IQVIA data, labetalol hydrochloride injection had US sales of $6 million (~Rs 44.2 crore) for the 12-months ended June 2021.

Equity mutual funds record inflows worth Rs 24,392 crore in August

India’s equity mutual funds witnessed net inflows for the sixth straight month, according to data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI). The net equity inflow for August stood at Rs 24,392.2 crore, compared to Rs 20,742.8 crore in July. The inflows pushed assets under management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry to an all-time high of Rs 36.6 lakh crore at the end of August. The industry witnessed an overall net inflow of Rs 32,976 crore across all segments last month, compared to an inflow of Rs 1.14 lakh crore in July.

JSPL pre-pays $106 million debt of its Australian subsidiary

Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has made a pre-payment of $106 million (~Rs 777.4 crore) to the lenders of its subsidiary Jindal Steel & Power (Australia) Ltd. The pre-payment has helped the company reduce JSPL’s “Australian debt” by approximately 50%. The company is now aiming to clear all its overseas debt in the upcoming quarters.

Adani Power’s subsidiary declared successful bidder for Gondhkari coal block

Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd (APML) has been declared as the successful bidder for commercial mining of the Gondkhairi coal block in Maharashtra. APML is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Power. It is engaged in the generation and transmission of electricity under long-term power purchase agreements and on merchant basis in India. Adani Power has a power generation capacity of 12,450 megawatts (MW) across the country.

Sansera Engineering IPO to open on Sept 14; price band fixed at Rs 734-744 per share

Sansera Engineering has fixed Rs 734-744 per share as the price band for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO). The public issue will open on September 14 and close on September 16. The IPO consists of a pure offer for sale (OFS) of 1.72 crore shares by its existing shareholders and promoters. On the upper band price, the firm will raise Rs 1,282.66 crore via the IPO. South Indian Bank (SIB), in association with OneCard, has launched the SIB-OneCard credit card. The premium metal card has a unique app-based onboarding process, which is in line with SIB’s vision of digital transformation. The internationally valid credit card on the Visa Signature platform can be controlled through the OneCard App. The SIB–OneCard card comes with features such as lifetime validity, zero joining and annual fees, instant issuance of reward points and easy redemption within the app, etc.

RBI removes PCA restrictions on UCO Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has lifted the Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework on UCO Bank. The performance of UCO Bank was reviewed by RBI’s Board for Financial Supervision. Based on the published results for the year ended March 31, 2021 (FY21), it was noted that the bank is not in breach of the PCA parameters. PCA is a framework under which banks with weak financial metrics are put under watch by the RBI.

SBI Reports 80% YoY Rise in Net Profit in Q4 – Top Indian Market News

SBI Q4 Results: Net profit rises 80% YoY to Rs 6,451 crore

State Bank of India (SBI) reported an 80.14% year-on-year (YoY) increase in standalone net profit to Rs 6450.75 crore for the quarter ended March (Q4). Net interest income (NII) rose 19% YoY to Rs 27,067 crore during the same period. [NII is the difference between the interest income a bank receives on loans, and the interest it pays to depositors] The gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio rose to 4.98% in Q4, compared with 4.77% in Q3. Provisions declined by 18.11% YoY to Rs 11,051 crore during the quarter. SBI’s board has declared a dividend of Rs 4 per share.

India’s gas output rises 23% in April as RIL-BP fields start production

India’s natural gas production increased by 22.7% in April, after Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and UK-based BP Plc ramped up output from their eastern offshore KG-D6 block. Our country produced 2.65 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in April, compared with 2.16 bcm in the same month last year. Crude oil production declined by 2% YoY to 2.49 million tonnes in April, as state-owned ONGC and Oil India Ltd produced less. The data was released by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

JSW Steel Q4 Results: Net profit rises 56.5% QoQ to Rs 4,198 crore

JSW Steel Limited reported a 56.5% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,198 crore for the quarter ended March (Q4 FY21). Net profit has jumped 1,717% YoY. Its revenue from operations rose 51% YoY to Rs 26,934 crore during the same period. The steelmaker’s exports grew 3.8% QoQ. JSW Steel’s board has announced a final dividend of Rs 6.5 per share. The company has also approved new projects that entail a capital expenditure of Rs 25,115 crore, spread between FY22 and FY24.

SJVN secures 75 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh

SJVN Limited has secured a 75 megawatt (MW) grid-connected solar project in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh through tariff-based competitive bidding. The power generated from the project will be procured by Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Development Agency (UPNEDA) for 25 years at Rs 2.68 per kilowatt-hour (KWh). SJVN is a joint venture between the Government of India (GoI) and the Himachal Pradesh government.

Hindalco Q4 Results: Net profit jumps 189% YoY to Rs 1,928 crore

Hindalco Industries reported a 189% YoY jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,928 crore for the quarter ended March (Q4). Net profit has increased by 2.7% when compared to the previous quarter. Its revenue from operations rose 38% YoY to Rs 40,507 crore during the same period. The company’s India business posted a 72% YoY growth in revenue to Rs 653 crore in Q4. This was aided by higher volume growth, better product mix, and lower input costs. Hindalco’s board has declared a final dividend of Rs 3 per share.

AG Enviro Infra Projects, a subsidiary of Antony Waste Handling Cell Ltd, has received a Letter of Intent (IoT) from Jhansi Smart City Ltd for door-to-door Collection and Transportation (C&T) of solid waste. The C&T contract is worth Rs 21 crore and is applicable for a period of five years. It involves the collection of solid waste from points such as households, commercial shops, and bulk waste generators.

Shree Cement Q4 Results: Net profit rises 49% YoY to Rs 798 crore

Shree Cement Ltd reported a 48.98% YoY (or 26.5% QoQ) increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 798.43 crore for the quarter ended March (Q4). Its revenue from operations rose 23.12% YoY to Rs 4,204.88 crore during the same period. For the financial year ended March 31, 2021 (FY21), net profit has increased by 48.83% YoY to Rs 2,285.87 crore. Shree Cement’s board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 60 per share.

IndiGo selects CFM’s engines to power 310 A320neo family aircraft

InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) has selected CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power its fleet of 310 new Airbus A320neo, A321neo, and A321XLR aircraft. The airline has ordered 620 new installed engines and associated spare engines. The agreement with CFM also includes long-term, multi-year service contracts. The new agreement will help IndiGo secure LEAP-1A engines and service agreements for its A320neo family aircraft from 2023 onwards.

Dr. Lal PathLabs Ltd reported a 156% YoY jump in net profit to Rs 83.4 crore for the quarter ended March (Q4). Net profit has declined by 13% when compared to the previous quarter. Its revenue from operations rose 42% YoY to Rs 431 crore during the same period. For the financial year ended March 31, 2021 (FY21), net profit has increased by 30% YoY to Rs 290.8 crore. The company’s board has declared a final dividend of Rs 8 per share.

South Indian Bank Q4 Results: Net profit at Rs 6.79 crore

South Indian Bank reported a net profit of Rs 6.79 crore for the quarter ended March (Q4 FY21). It had posted a net loss of Rs 143.69 crore in the corresponding quarter last year (Q4 FY20). Total income declined by 10.4% YoY to Rs 2,098.25 crore in Q4 FY21. The gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio rose to 6.97% as of March 31, 2021 (FY21), compared with 4.98% in FY20. For the financial year ended March 31, 2021 (FY21), net profit declined 41% YoY to Rs 61.9 crore.
